Religious Education

 

Religious Education is not subject to folio review but is included as a program at Concordia University, Nebraska since it is an integral part of the mission and ministry of the University over the past 118 years.  The department provides coursework taken by all candidates at Concordia as part of our general education requirements (Rel-121 – History and Literature of the Old Testament, Rel-131 – History and Literature of the New Testament, and Theo-210 – Faith and Life) as well as the theology courses required for the Lutheran Teacher Diploma (Theo-241, 242, 251, or 252 – Biblical Interpretation, Theo-361 – Doctrine I, Theo-362 – Doctrine II, and Theo-381 – Christian Teachers Ministry).  The department also offers courses used for our Director of Christian Education program.  The department offers a Bachelor of Arts major and minor in Theology.  There is also a pre-seminary program and a pre-deaconess program on campus.  Courses are also included in other programs across campus.
