The Design of Everyday Things: Revised/Expanded Edition
Don Norman
Basic Books, 2013
ISBN - 9780465050659
368 pages
This book revolutionized how I approach any design project. I love building websites and designing them to look good and be functional (like this one!). However, there are tons of thing that go into that process that most consumers never recognize or realize (again... like this blog...). Why? Because good design almost disappears, while bad design sticks out like a sore thumb, or worse!
Norman writes an engrossing and fascinating look at how we take design for granted and how to use good design methods in everything we do, and why that concept is so important. As instructors and educators the concepts in this book should actually be required reading.
