The shallows is one of those works that comes out and simply must be read. Of course, it was a big deal in my masters studies as a librarian, as it had come out a few years before I started my program and had really taken root. Now, almost a decade after the original article, it is no longer a cautionary tale, but an eye opening "wow" moment, page after page.
Simply a must read for educators as they engage students, parents, and even colleagues who are now even further down the rabbit hole than Carr had the ability to profile only a few years ago.
