Assignment 20
See Due Date Information Below
Select a song or orchestral work that represents ABA form, Rondo form or Theme and Variations. If you look in the index of the Teacher’s Editions located in Room Twenty under “From” you will find examples of songs or musical works that you can use for your lesson plan. You may also choose a song that you already have in your listening library.
Create a lesson plan using the format provided. Your main goal is for the students to be able to identify the form of the musical work you have selected.
All music concepts you introduce in your lesson should be represented by a specific behavioral objective.
- Think about the activities you might do: Consider Kodaly, Orff, Dalcroze and Gordon
- Search for National Core Standards that would fit Creating, Performing, and Responding
- Choose the standards that you will focus on and list them on the form.
- Write specific behavioral objectives.
- List the music theorists that your activities will represent
- List every single resource, including page numbers, names of songs, recording information and instruments used in your lesson.
- Write a sequence of activities. Be specific and detailed. This is a step-by-step explanation of what you will do and say throughout the lesson plan. It lists in detail what music activities you will be doing and how you go about doing them.
Choose your music and listen to it enough times that you are completely familiar with the form.
