Checkpoint 2: Application for Admission to the Professional Semester (Student Teaching)
When? – Complete in the semester prior to student teaching
Deadlines: February 1 for Fall Student Teaching; September 15 for Spring Student Teaching
What?– This application (blue form) should be picked up in the Education Department from Mrs. Bauer, THOM 214A.
Requirements
Cumulative GPA of 2.75
100 hours of documented field experience hours
A grade of C or better in all Education courses
Attempt / Register for Praxis Content Tests for all applicable endorsement areas (Scores must be received prior to the start of your student teaching semester).
Completion of background check and Felony / Misdemeanor Statement
Signatures from advisor, director of field experiences, program director, and the head of teacher education (These signatures are on the back of the blue form)
Attend mandatory early student teaching meeting (information will be emailed)
